Controversy of 9/11
Tomas Maxian
Has it ever occurred to you that the media uses bias in their news and the audience sponges up the information despite the prejudice? As the audience of the 9/11 attacks, we were told that Al-Qaeda masterminded the attacks. Despite being given evidence that Al-Qaeda was behind the attacks, there is evidence contradictory to this theory. After further exploring the background of the attacks, my previous knowledge obtained by the news broadcast, is vulnerable and hard to assume as true. The September 11, 2001 bombing disaster on the Twin Towers, New York, was an inside job.

There is lacking evidence on the hijacking of the planes and the failure of the defense system. Firstly, it is hard to believe that “the unprecedented failure of the US air defense system on the morning of the attacks” was a coincidence (Ryan). Despite the claims of many, I believe that we cannot assume anything on such serious and unknown matter. The second unreliable factor that I present is on one of the hijacked planes, Flight 77. This flight was enlisted as hijacked at the Dulles International Airport. Ironically, “not one of the 300 Dulles International Airport security cameras, positioned at ticket counters, lounges and boarding gate captured images of the alleged hijackers of AA Flight 77” (Douglass). Therefore, assuming that this plane was indeed hijacked by a member of the Al-Qaeda is ridiculous.
The information on alleged hijackers and their identities is lacking. Two alleged hijackers were said to be present in Portland only a few hours before the tragedy (Bell) . One of the supposed hijackers is Mohamed Atta (Bell). Despite the fact that more than 10 people encountered Mohamed before the attacks, “there is hardly anyone in Portland to interview” (Bell). “It’s like they dropped off the face of the earth” (Bell). In my opinion, some type of U.S. secret police has silenced the people requested for interview. It is incredible that 13 years after the attacks, the FBI is still capable of maintaining silence on the matter. Mystery is still present in the identities of the alleged hijackers, but progress in evidence on the case is leading me to believe that the hijackers were not instructed by the Al-Qaeda.
The FBI’s handling of requests for documents related to the attacks is unacceptable (Herald). Recent studies on the matter have concluded the documents given by the FBI to the public to be flawed. Despite the FBI being an organization with probably the most intelligence on the attacks, they “provided records with apparent and unexplained chronological gaps” (Herald). This statement becomes quite misleading as we begin to question whether or not the FBI is trying to hide the truth. The documents presented to the court seem “incomplete” (Herald). Not only do these documents have gaps, but the “submitted summary documents do in fact seem to contradict each other” (Herald). I believe that these three statements completely debunk the authority of the FBI and clearly instate their attempt to hide the truth.
News on the case of 9/11 has taught us to believe that Al-Qaeda is behind the attacks, yet the evidence provided is misleading and incoherent. The coincidental failure of the U.S. air defense system is suspicious. The 300-camera proof hijacking of AA flight 77 causes skepticism on the matter. The obscure identities of the hijackers and information given by the FBI only contribute to the opinion that 9/11 was not instructed by Al-Qaeda. Rather, the tragedy was caused by a certain secret police or conspiracy.
